Terms and privacy
Understand how AuthNTick handles privacy, personal information, security, cookies, complaints and service communications for Australian background screening.
Privacy Overview
AuthNTick Identity Service is committed to respecting and protecting the privacy of customers, suppliers, website visitors, job applicants and people who contact us online, by phone, in writing or in person.
This policy explains the personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and disclose it, and how you can request access, corrections or assistance with a privacy concern.
Personal information means information or an opinion about an identified individual, or an individual who is reasonably identifiable.
The information we collect depends on your interaction with AuthNTick and the check or service you request.
Where reasonable and practicable, we collect personal information directly from you when you create an account, apply for a check, upload documents, contact support, provide feedback or otherwise use our services.
We may also receive information from third-party sources where required to verify details, conduct a check, process a business relationship or assess an application.
Personal information may be held electronically or in hard copy. AuthNTick uses security measures designed to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.
Use Of Information
AuthNTick collects personal information only where it is reasonably necessary for our functions and activities, including background checks, identity verification, customer support, compliance and platform security.
For individual users, information is used to complete the check or verification you requested and to make authorised results or status information available through secure AuthNTick systems.
For corporate users, information is used to administer services for your organisation, confirm authorised access, support compliance requirements and help hiring or screening teams manage applications securely.
If you are not a customer, such as a supplier, job applicant or member of the public, we collect information needed to communicate with you, assess a request, manage a business relationship or meet our obligations.
AuthNTick discloses personal information only where needed to provide our services, support customers, verify information, work with service providers, comply with law or respond to authorised requests.
Some service providers may provide services from outside Australia. Where an overseas disclosure is required for a particular check or verification, information may be shared with the relevant provider or authority for that purpose.
We may also be required by law to disclose information to courts, regulators, law enforcement agencies or other authorised bodies.
Access And Security
You may request access to personal information held by AuthNTick Identity Service. There is no charge to request access, although an administration fee may apply if detailed retrieval or copies are required.
If you believe information we hold is incorrect, incomplete or out of date, you can ask us to correct it.
AuthNTick takes care with the information it holds and uses physical, technical and administrative safeguards to reduce the risk of misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.
When information is no longer required for a lawful purpose, we take reasonable steps to destroy it or de-identify it.
Complaints And Contact
If you have a complaint about how AuthNTick has handled, used or disclosed personal information, please contact us in writing with your details and a description of the issue.
We will investigate and respond as soon as reasonably possible. If the issue is not resolved to your satisfaction, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
AuthNTick may use your contact details to send relevant service updates, product information or offers where permitted by law.
You can opt out of marketing communications at any time. We will aim to action your request promptly and without charge.
