Privacy Overview

How AuthNTick handles privacy across police checks and background screening.

Our commitment to your privacy

AuthNTick Identity Service is committed to respecting and protecting the privacy of customers, suppliers, website visitors, job applicants and people who contact us online, by phone, in writing or in person.

This policy explains the personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and disclose it, and how you can request access, corrections or assistance with a privacy concern.

What personal information do we collect?

Personal information means information or an opinion about an identified individual, or an individual who is reasonably identifiable.

The information we collect depends on your interaction with AuthNTick and the check or service you request.

  • Name, contact details, date of birth and identity documents
  • Check application details, consent records and check history
  • Career, qualification, work history, reference or right-to-work information where relevant
  • Website, support and communication records needed to provide and improve our services
How do we collect and hold information?

Where reasonable and practicable, we collect personal information directly from you when you create an account, apply for a check, upload documents, contact support, provide feedback or otherwise use our services.

We may also receive information from third-party sources where required to verify details, conduct a check, process a business relationship or assess an application.

Personal information may be held electronically or in hard copy. AuthNTick uses security measures designed to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.

Use Of Information

Why personal information is needed for secure checks and customer support.

Why do we collect personal information?

AuthNTick collects personal information only where it is reasonably necessary for our functions and activities, including background checks, identity verification, customer support, compliance and platform security.

  • To verify information supplied by applicants or authorised customers
  • To administer and deliver police checks, identity checks and background screening services
  • To communicate with customers, applicants and authorised business users
  • To improve our products, support and secure online workflow
  • To protect against fraud, misuse, unauthorised access and data loss
  • To meet legal, regulatory, audit and reporting obligations
How does this apply to individuals and businesses?

For individual users, information is used to complete the check or verification you requested and to make authorised results or status information available through secure AuthNTick systems.

For corporate users, information is used to administer services for your organisation, confirm authorised access, support compliance requirements and help hiring or screening teams manage applications securely.

If you are not a customer, such as a supplier, job applicant or member of the public, we collect information needed to communicate with you, assess a request, manage a business relationship or meet our obligations.

When may information be disclosed?

AuthNTick discloses personal information only where needed to provide our services, support customers, verify information, work with service providers, comply with law or respond to authorised requests.

Some service providers may provide services from outside Australia. Where an overseas disclosure is required for a particular check or verification, information may be shared with the relevant provider or authority for that purpose.

We may also be required by law to disclose information to courts, regulators, law enforcement agencies or other authorised bodies.
