AuthNTick currently sponsors Baseline security clearances only. AGSVA independently conducts the security vetting assessment and determines the clearance outcome.

Every sponsorship request is assessed individually. A genuine business requirement and applicable eligibility requirements must be satisfied.
What is a Baseline security clearance?
A Baseline security clearance may support ongoing access to Australian Government security-classified resources up to and including PROTECTED, where required by the position or access requirement.
It is different from ordinary employment or workforce background screening. Completing an AuthNTick background check does not result in a security clearance.

Where separately required, appropriate identity, citizenship, police, employment, address, education or other workforce screening may be coordinated through AuthNTick. These checks do not replace AGSVA vetting.

AGSVA application
Where sponsorship is approved, the applicant proceeds through the applicable AGSVA process and provides the information requested by AGSVA.

AGSVA independently conducts the security vetting assessment and determines the outcome.

Sponsorship administration
AuthNTick manages applicable sponsorship administration associated with the Baseline clearance.
Workforce screening for Defence and government environments
AuthNTick can separately provide relevant workforce-screening services. The appropriate screening should be determined by the role, organisation, contractual requirements and applicable policies. These checks are not all mandatory for every DISP employee or Baseline application.

What is Baseline security clearance sponsorship?
Sponsorship connects an eligible applicant with an appropriate sponsoring organisation for a role or business requirement. The sponsor supports the application and applicable administration; AGSVA conducts the security vetting.
Can AuthNTick sponsor a Baseline security clearance?
AuthNTick can assess eligible requests for Baseline sponsorship where an appropriate business requirement exists. Every request is assessed individually.
Does AuthNTick sponsor NV1 or NV2 clearances?
No. AuthNTick currently sponsors Baseline security clearances only. AuthNTick does not currently sponsor NV1, NV2 or Positive Vetting clearances.
Does AuthNTick approve my security clearance?
No. AuthNTick assesses requests for sponsorship. AGSVA independently conducts the government security vetting assessment and determines whether a clearance is granted.
Do I need a reason to obtain a Baseline clearance?
Yes. A clearance requirement should arise from an appropriate role, access or genuine business requirement. AuthNTick assesses the reason for the request before agreeing to sponsorship.
Does sponsorship guarantee a Baseline clearance?
No. Sponsorship by AuthNTick does not guarantee that AGSVA will grant a security clearance.
Can contractors apply for Baseline sponsorship?
AuthNTick can assess enquiries from eligible professionals and contractors whose role or engagement has an appropriate business requirement. An enquiry does not guarantee acceptance.
Is a background check the same as a Baseline security clearance?
No. Workforce screening provides evidence for an organisation’s employment decisions. A government security clearance requires sponsorship and a separate vetting assessment by AGSVA. Completing AuthNTick background checks does not result in a clearance.
